Piazza San Giacomo

When visiting this picturesque Italian town, you must visit the main square – Piazza San Giacomo Matteotti, with many beautiful medieval tenement houses. Many of them are still covered with original frescoes. On the west side of the square stands the amazing Church of San Giacomo. While eating in one of the many tasty restaurants, we can admire the fountain designed by Mastro Cipriano.
 

The Patriarchal Palace

The Patriarchal Palace in Udine is one of the most famous historic buildings in the city.
The central body of the building was built in the 16th century, when the patriarchs of Aquileia, unable to reside in the castle anymore, were looking for another residence in the city. In later years, it was expanded, for example, on the order of Patriarch Dioniso Delfino, when a wing with a library was added.
