In this article we will show you in which places you can spend your free time bringing attention to architecture of both cities. Our whole life we’ve been living in Warsaw, In Udine we’ve spent two weeks, but we still managed to get to know the most popular places in which italian teenagers spent their time.
At first, we would like to focus on Dacia Arena Stadium. It’s a football pitch located in Udine, Italy. It’s the home for a club Udinese Calcio since 1976.
The stadium has 3 levels. Inside we can find fitness rooms, shops sports, office space, and on one of the levels even consists a museum of the Friuli Stadium. It is a modern building with an opening above the playing field, built on a rectangular plan, and finished with futuristic three-dimensional panels in the shape of triangles.
In turn in Warsaw we have PGE Narodowy. It is the biggest stadium in Poland and one of the most advanced sports facilities in Europe. It consists of 8 floors. The facade of the stadium refers to national polish strip, it is supposed to image a flowing red-and-white flag. Additionally it is covered with a mesh. It is an open construction with a see-through extantable roof. In the stadium we can find restaurants, office space, hotel, space for sport or cultural events and concerts.
Another place to spend time is Piazza Liberta, in eng. Freedom Square. We went there and in our opinion it is the perfect place to sit and chill with friends. The square is located under the castle hill, the most important the sights on the square are a Renaissance fountain and a column with a lion. Piazza Giacomo Matteotti is right next to Liberta. On the square there are plenty of restaurants, cafes where you can eat delicious snacks and Italian dinner. We also can not forget about the famous ice cream shops, where you will eat traditional ,,gelato’’.
On the other hand in Warsaw, the equivalent of Piazza Matteotti can be considered ,,Plac Konstytucji”, where there are restaurants with various world cuisines (including Italian ;)). Similar places are, for example, Plac Zbawiciela, Plac Unii Lubelskiej and Plac Bankowy. All of these places are located in the center of Warsaw.
Nature lovers and long walks fans will also find something for themselves in Udine. The most popular park that our Italian colleagues have recommended to us is Parco Del Cormor. It is a city park and a botanical garden. In the park you will find dense forests, open lawns, paths and a playground for children.
We can find a lot of such parks in Warsaw. The most popular park is Pola Mokotowskie, which is an ideal place to hang out with friends. The park is a huge area full of open lawns as well as shady places under the trees. In addition to the Pola Mokotowskie, the Łazienki Królewskie are as popular as them. On their territory, in addition to the park itself, there is the Pałac Łazienkowski, the former summer residence of Polish King.
Summing up, if one of you will visit Udine or Warsaw, we encourage you to see these places. You will also notice that despite cultural and linguistic differences, the places where teenagers spend time are very similar. This shows that architecture in the world can connect various corners of the world through similar places. We hope that thanks to us you already know where to go during your stay in these cities.
